IAP Research Groups
Nonlinear Quantum Optics
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Hofferberth
Our group explores how we can create strong optical nonlinearity in a medium at light levels of individual photons. Our goal is to realize a system that enables full control over the quantum state of few photon light pulses.
Quantum Optics
Prof. Dr. Martin Weitz
Our group conducts experiments on the following topics: quantum physics of ultracold atomic gases, equilibrium thermodynamics of light, and laser cooling of dense gases.
Nanophysics and Quantum Photonics
Prof. Dr. Daqing Wang
We research the interaction between light and matter at the nanoscopic and quantum level. In particular, we focus on understanding and controlling these interactions among single photons, atoms and molecules
Quantum Fluids Of Light
Dr. Julian Schmitt
Our experimental research is focused on quantum fluids of light to study emergent phenomena both in and out of equilibrium - such as superfluidity or turbulence.
Quantum Technology
Prof. Dr. Dieter Meschede
The experiments from the Quantum Technology group are currently being shut down.
